From natural to social sciences and humanities, from research regarding magnetized plasmas or parasites in the adipose tissue to trans-genre writing. Reseed team had the opportunity to learn from different experiences when participating in the ERC Summit 2019 on April 8-9 at the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga, Portugal.

According to INL Director General Lars Montelius, the event counted on the participation of representatives from 69 projects funded by the European Research Council (ERC) in Portugal and Spain. Investigators that lead nine of them did a short presentation of their researches.

ERC President Jean-Pierre Bourguignon participated to the opening session as well as Carlos Moedas, the European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation. Both of them highlighted the importance of the research in the European level, providing conditions and funding that are much harder or even impossible to get at the national level. Career impacts, Intellectual Property and Science Communication are other examples of topics discussed in the event.

Sharing ideas, discussing challenges and thinking of the sustainability of the research with other ERC grantees was fruitful for ReSEED team. The event also stressed the value of some of the project´s main goals: to communicate our research journey since the beginning and to build collaborations with other scientists and society.
